Healthier Fried Chicken

I’m not ashamed to say that 60% of my family food is deep fried and we love deep fried food. They are crispy and delicious. I am not scared of deep fried food because I know when I made them at home I can make them healthier. We are active and excercise regularly we couldn’t be more healthy 🙂

This fried chicken recipe is so lean and healthy. It’s crispy and I promise it’s not oily at all. Everyone in my family loves these hot golden chickens. I removed skin so that this chicken will be light and healthy.

The trick of making good deep fried food is using good oil. Don’t reuse oil that has been deep fried before because that’s gonna make food greasy.

Healthier Fried Chicken

Ingredients (serving 4)

1 Whole chicken (about 1.5-2 kg), cut into big pieces, removed skin and trimmed access fat

1 large egg

1 tsp curry powder

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp salt

1 tsp freshly crushed pepper

1 1/2 cups flour for coating

Oil for frying

Method:

Beat eggs in the large bowl, add curry powder and Worcestershire sauce.

Add chicken and apply the liquid all over the chicken.

Mix flour, salt and pepper together.

Rolls chicken in the flour mixture pieces by pieces and let it stand for 5 minutes.

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Fry chicken until one side is golden brown, then turn and brown other side. Drain on paper towel.

Serve hot with ketchup or your favourite sauce.
