Munnar

It was difficult to believe that we were still in Kerala when the thin fog covered the road ahead and the temperature was really chill. Again, I had to remind myself that we were still in Kerala when tea plantation hills took my breath away.

I felt like we were up north and not south. As we drove pass a tea factory, the awaking perfume of tea leaves being wilted and fermented made us turn our heads. We looked at each other and smiled. We had never been a tea drinker, but if any cup of tea came with that kind of fragrance, we were ready to sign up.

Munnar is a hill station in Idukki district, Kerala, India. It is known for beautiful, cool climate and tea plantation covering green hills. Munnar is blessed with gorgeous sceneries and landscape, making it one of the must-see destinations when you visit Kerala.

There are a generous amount of green and freshness here which makes the air amazingly clean.

There were a lot of things to do in Munnar.

You can visit a spice garden and farm where you can see local vegetable and spices grew.

If you are super active, then you can try hiking along the mountain curve to enjoy the never-ending views.

The famous Mattupetty Dam is also one of the great places for family picnic.

You can visit the handicraft stores which spread throughout tourist hot-spots.

And if you like something a little more rustic and natural, there are wild honey venders selling fresh honey along the roads.

And of course, you should visit tea plantation and tea factory and get yourself the freshest batch of tea bags.

Traditional Kerala cuisine and Tamil delicacy is what you can expect here. There are different types of restaurants to choose from in town. You can also find a small restaurant with breath- taking view where homemade meal is served.

It is so cool and peaceful here. I wished I had more time to enjoy the nature lusciousness. It’s hard to leave some place so beautiful, so we will definitely visit again.

Love,
Tes
