Fresh Peach Lemonade

I love the feeling of biting through fresh, ripe peach. The very first sensation is that sweet juice gushing out of the fruit and dripping from the corners of your lips. And then as instantly as you taste the natural sweetness, the beautiful floral fragrance unfurls in your mouth.

It’s peach season here in India. These beautiful Indian peach came from the serene hills of Himachal Pradesh, the northern state of India. In the market, it’s hard to ignore these plum and voluptuous fruits that even the bees seem to be so fond of. I understand how they can mistake these fruits as flowers satiated with nectars. The smell of these peaches are like perfume, like flowers, and so sweet.

When peach season arrives, there are few regular routines I attend in my kitchen. I need to make a few jars delicious peach chutney, some peachy, chewy fruit leathers, and finally… there has to be this fresh peach lemonade to lighten up everything.

My fresh peach lemonade is fuzz free, easy and quick. There’s no need of cooking the peach syrup. Everything is just fresh and raw so you will not lose any natural goodness or flavor at all.

Fresh Peach Lemonade

Ingredients: (2 Servings)

2 peaches- chopped

1-2 tsp fresh lemon juice- or to taste

2 tbsp honey (or sugar if preferred)

3 cup ice-chill water

Ice cubes for serving

Some fresh peach slices for serving

  1. Add chopped peach and chill water into the blender and blend roughly for 30 seconds or so.
  2. Strain peach juice through muslin clothes and discard any impurity.
  3. Add honey and fresh lemon juice to taste.
  4. Add ice and peach slices before serving.

This fresh peach lemonade is so fresh and earthy. I love that flowered scent; it reminds me a lot of beautiful blossoms in the wild. It’s very refreshing, packed with vitamins and minerals and so so healthy 🙂
