The good restaurant is the one which crowded; it’s a universal knowledge. Foodies know their ways around good restaurant where smoky air and the sound of fat sizzling on hot grill allure them in.

At Marrakesh, the crowds gather early evening. Varieties of kebab threaded on iron skewers, the grills are hot, the inferno tandoori oven settles into perfect baking temperature, fresh onion, mint, coriander and lime are sliced, chopped and diced, and the smell of fresh bread is so welcoming. The eager crowds move fast, and the service is agreeably quick and spontaneous. Food flies out and more people come in. It has such a good vibe.

Marrakesh is a small restaurant in Kalyani Nagar, Pune. To get there, if you come from Nagar road, pass Bishop School and Landmark Garden, Marrakesh is on your right, locating right at the corner of the first junction.

Marrakesh is a famous food joint specializing in Lebanese cuisine with great spread of spicy Indian menu. With exotic Middle Eastern aromas, it’s difficult to turn your head away.

Shawarma, a marinated meat (chicken or mutton) grilled until tender with fries, pickles and tahini sauce wrapped in airy pita bread, cost Rs. 85 for chicken and Rs. 95 for mutton. For vegetarian, there are sensational Falafel, Makhani roll, Mouttabal with Zatar Naan, and vegetarian Shawamar to choose from.

Kebabs displaying in front of the shop is definitely the highlight. With greasy smoke swirling up the air and beautiful aroma of perfectly marinated and spiced meat, they are super amazing. From chicken tandoori, Murg Nizami, Reshami Tikka, Makrana Kebab, Seekh Kebad, Boti Kebab to vegetarian delights like Paneer Tikka and Paneer Tikka Afghani, Marrakesh is truly a grill paradise.

For main course, the chef recommends Ghost Rogan Josh, Chicken Bhuna, Peshawari Dal, Paneer Makhani, try them with variety of freshly made Zatar Naan, Tandorri Roti, Reshmi Paratha or buttery Naan. If you are a biryani lover, it’s fair to try Dum Biryani. It’s perfectly spiced but not spicy at all.

The sultry and easy going ambience of the restaurant make you want to relax and enjoy the flow. The menu is intriguing and there are many things to try. Head there with family and friends; it’s really a fun place to dine 🙂
