The fragrances of onion, celery and bell peppers, the trinity of the rustic Cajun Cuisines, is infused in one of my admirable ingredients. I use Cajun spice in my meat stew, delicious dirty rice and roasted seafood with veggies.
Simple pan fried spicy and aromatic fish is always in demand in my family. Whether it’s an old fashion south Indian fried fish that loaded with chilli power and curry leaves or Thai style salt and garlic fried fish, when they’re placed on the table, we fight for them until the last bite.
Here is one easy Cajun Spice Fried Fish that requires no effort whatsoever to make.
Cajun Spice Fried Fish
500 gm fish (any kind of firm fresh fish. I use kingfish)
1 1/2 tbsp Cajun Spice powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
Rub Cajun Spice powder and salt on the fish and keep aside for 10 minutes. Heat oil in the pan over medium heat, and when the oil is hot, add fish. Fry fish for 3-5 minutes each side or until golden brown.
I made a spread of colorful meal to go with this fried fish, Lemony Buttery Corn Kernels with Pita Bread, Cauliflowers Mash and salsa. You can also serve this with simple salad and dirty rice.
