Mysore Zoo or Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden is one of the oldest and most popular zoos in India. The zoo is located in the heart of the City of Mysore, in Karnataka State of India. This city is our second stop in our recent road trip series.
Here is our video. I hope you enjoy it.
Mysore Zoo is very spacious, spreading over 157 acres of fresh and fertile park. It’s very clean and well-maintained. The most important thing is the animals in the zoo are very healthy and well-fed. They are living in big spacious areas that replicate their natural habitats. The zoo has an impressive adoption scheme which allows people to adopt the animals in the zoo and help the zoo looking after them.
To be honest, this zoo is the best zoo I have ever been to, better than the ones we have visited in Thailand. I think what makes us love this place so much is how the animals are treated with kindness here. They look healthy, and they have enough space to get comfortable.
The zoo layout is organized in many zones, and it has sustainable water system running throughout the park. This is a perfect place to spend time with your family and teach your young ones to love nature.
I think we can all appreciate that, ultimately and ideally, these animals belong in the wild. However, the zoos exist to bring to our attention the important of nature and the life beyond ourselves. These animals should be given so much respect and appreciation that they are there for us to see and learn because, in real life, we wouldn’t possibly see them up close like this. I noticed though that everyone is inspired and changed a little when they visited the zoo. A trip like this makes us value the diversity of life and realize that we all should protect each other and co-exist in harmony.
