People often ask me “Why Tes at Home?” when the stories in this blog are never just at home. We travel, we explore, we do other things, and of course we cook, but this is not just a story within a home. So why is … “at home”?

My answer is simple and clear…

Tes at home

Well, it’s Tes at home. It’s really about me at home. My home is my boys— my daring soul mate and best friend, Sadik and my son, Yaseen. I’m crazy about them. A luxury hotel room, a sketchy motel, in a car on the highway, on the mountain, a quiet beach, some rusted up old town or a crowdy city– as long as we’re together…it’s home. So this blog is running around them. We are a package deal. We drive away together on the weekend. We cook. We travel. We fall in love. We laugh and fight. Everything, everywhere…together.

To be honest, when I first started this blog, I never thought it was going to get any attention from people other than my family in Thailand. It was meant to be a channel to connect with my family and friends abroad, to show them what were happening with my life in India. Today, we are about to cross 1,000,000 page views, I look back and think wow, how far have we come and grown.

We talk about food. We share our travel stories. There was an episode of me losing my wedding ring here. I share my rock bottoms and my highs. This is a place we call home.

We will see you around… neighbors 🙂

I was born and brought up in Thailand. I’ve moved to India 7 years ago, so I travel back and forth India- Thailand all the time. I have always loved cooking since I was very young. I assisted my mom cooking, and tried experimenting new recipes and new cuisines. Now that I am a mom, I enjoy cooking even more. The idea of blogging is actually from my husband because I have been working on 2 cookbooks which I plan to publish next year, he thought it’s a good idea to try sharing my recipes and learn from other recipes. So I am end up addicted to blogging and searching for new recipes to try all the time.

Your blog attracts me because I love living healthy and great recipes.

I really happy we can connect!

  • voicesinmyhead

Love the look of your blog! I love Thai food and your recipes look delish! I’m glad you stumbled upon my post and left a comment, so I could find you! BTW, since you live in India, where do you find your Thai ingredients? Very few local markets in India have authentic Thai stuff like galangal and kaffir lime leaves, and my search for these things usually leaves me too tired to get cooking again! You know of any place that stocks these?

Love your blog again and hope to see you on mine often!

There are great store in Pune called Dorabjee. It has variety of Aisan and International groceries. We love shopping there. But also I packed the stuffs with me whenever I visited to Thailand and visit other countries. My family send me some products from home time to time. If you interested in something in particular I may be able to suggest where to fine it. So where about you are in India? Thanks for visiting and hope we can share more recipe.

      • voicesinmyhead

Ah, thanks for that, Tes. I’m not in Pune, but close-by, in Mumbai. I keep visiting Pune all the time though, so will check with my friends there about Dorabjee. Nice to know we are geographically so close! 🙂

  • Thanks for stopping by my blog! I’m excited to read more of yours!

What kind of home business are you thinking of starting? It’s something my husband and I have thought about possibly doing in the future, though we don’t really have ideas of details yet.

  • Tes – Thanks for adding me to your Blogroll.
